The town is located at the foot of Mountain Prokletije, at the spring of the River Lim. Many written evidence prove that the city was inhabited since the Iron Age (drawing of a Deer Hunter in a cave above Gusinja). Plav Lake, Hridsko and Visitor lake, as well as other numerous glacial lakes and mountains, as well as hot springs and karst spring Alipaša's spring and "Oko Skakavca" (Eye of a grasshopper) attract many tourists. Medieval monuments include The Church of the Holy Trinity in Brezojevina and Redžepagica Tower (15th century). Prokletije represents a challenge for mountain climbers and hikers, and lovers of sheer cliffs, rugged peaks, deep cirques, steep cliffs and numerous springs and lakes.
